While the upcoming Space Restaurant may be the new restaurant with all of the attention and hype, it’s not the only restaurant under construction at Epcot. A new Signature Dining location is currently being built for the Japan Pavilion that will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA. The restaurant is inspired by nature and will draw from both nature and takumi, which means “artisan” in Japanese.
Here’s a view of where the restaurant will be located.
As you can see in the photos below, all of the trees seen in the before photo above are now gone. It appears that work still needs to be done to prepare the site before a foundation can be constructed.
Turning our view to the left from the photo above shows some heavy machinery and the existing structure that the new restaurant will connect to.
No opening date has been announced for the new signature dining location, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on the latest information has it becomes available!
