Disney CEO Bob Iger has just announced that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open at Disneyland on May 31st and Walt Disney World on August 29th.

While the announcement was expected for some time now, what wasn’t expected was how early the opening would be. The biggest news is that both attractions won’t actually be ready on opening day.

Iger announced that only Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run will be operational on opening day. There will be a second “opening” for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance “later in the year”.
