While checking out the Epcot entrance overhaul project, we were able to get a good vantage point for a look at the Rose Walk pathway widening project over near the Imagination pavilion.
If you’re unfamiliar with the pathway, it takes guests from Future World west to World Showcase, connecting near the Refreshment Port. Here’s a look at the pathway, highlighted on the Walt Disney World map.
From the monorail, we can see that the pathway that once offered a shortcut to World Showcase has now been completely removed. This area was last used for a couple of Outdoor Kitchens for the 2019 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. From this vantage point, you can even see the recently resodded area that used to be a flower bed.
A better look at the construction zone seems to show the outline of the new walkway taking shape. If this is the new width of the walkway, it will be over twice as wide as what was previously there. This will be a huge help as this walkway would often get quite congested during Epcot festivals. The work on this pathway is expected to be completed before August 29th, which is the first day of the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival.
