Good afternoon from Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a “seasonal” Primeval Whirl. While walking around the park today, we decided to check in on the spinning wild mouse roller coaster and report the latest operational status so you can better plan your upcoming vacation. As of today, October 11th, the attraction is not running, but we did learn more about the chances it’ll be open during your next visit!
According to Cast Members, the attraction is being run only for training purposes. There have been a lot of new Cast Members hired since the attraction closed for unplanned maintenance and they need to be trained on how to operate the attraction safely. There are no set schedules for the training, with the attraction only opening for a few hours three different days this week.
Cast Members indicated that a “fix” has been applied to the right side of the attraction, but not the left side. The training of the new Cast Members is in preparation for a seasonal operating schedule, likely during Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. With the exception of those two times, the attraction may periodically soft open, but won’t hold a consistent schedule or operating hours.
Cast Members did indicate that they’re trying to run the attraction during the full Disney After Hours upcharge event that takes place on select dates.
