Disney Offers Complimentary Park Ticket to Guests After Being Unable to Accommodate All Rise of the Resistance Boarding Groups on Opening Day

According to a tweet from @DisPhotography_, Disney is offering guests some pretty unexpected recovery options if they weren’t able to ride Rise of the Resistance with a boarding pass.

As we told you very early this morning, Disney implemented a boarding group virtual queue as the only way to access Rise of the Resistance on opening day due to high demand. While Disney distributed all of the boarding group allotments for the day just 30 minutes after park open, it looks like some guests who secured a boarding pass won’t be able to ride. Here’s a look at some screenshots of the recovery option of an “anytime” FastPass for any attraction, and, quite surprisingly, a 1-day Complimentary Park-Hopper ticket!

    1. We stayed at the Polynesian. My group and a bunch of other people were out there at 6am ready to shuttle to HS to get our boarding passes for Rise of the Resistance – the essential highlight of our trip. Come 6:30, no buses still show up. Someone in the group called guest relations and they said a bus was there at 6:15 which was not true because we’ve all been there since 6:00 and no bus was there. A bus didn’t show up until 6:49! We didn’t get inside the gate at HS until 7:10, which caused us to get boarding group 111, which ended up being at the very end of the day as the last group.

We hustled like crazy (including my 20 week pregnant with twins wife and toddler) and got there on time, the ride was broken down at the time so we waited about 30 minutes just to get in queue. We finally got in the queue and all of a sudden it stopped. We sat in the musty cave for almost an hour. I had to go use the bathroom so we got escorted to the backstage staff bathrooms. When I came out everybody was leaving the queue from the exit doors.

We got told the ride isn’t operational and won’t be for the rest of the night. They scanned our magic bands and that gave us a fastpass for I assume any ride in HS and a park ticket that some cast members said 10 years and others were not sure – I think ended up being just 2 years, which I won’t be able to return because my wife is having twins in June to add to our family of 3. The day this happened was our last day at the parks so the fastpass is basically useless to us.

We’re all pretty bummed we put in all the work and because the bus service failed, it essentially caused us to not ride RotR.
