Disney has just extended park hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios through January 4th. The move is likely due to the overwhelming demand seen for the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

On non-Extra Magic Hours days, the park opening has been moved from 9am to 8am starting tomorrow, December 8th and running through January 4, 2020.

While moving the official scheduled opening to 8am from 9am is a step in the right direction to properly notifying guests of an earlier start to their day than originally planned, if Disney continues to open the park before 7am due to large Rise of the Resistance crowds, they may be forced to update their park hours once again.

As a reminder, Disney has announced that the Extra Magic Hours will start at 6am tomorrow, December 8th to give guests more time to enjoy the park. Do note that if you’re heading out to Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Extra Magic Hours that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not included. If you are looking to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you are required to secure a Boarding Pass. For everything you need to know about the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue boarding group process, check out our post here. If you don’t want to dedicate hours to riding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, we have some videos below of both the entire experience (pre-show, transport ship, and full ride), or just the ride portion of Disney’s newest ride.
