The Oriental Land Company has announced that Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will be closed until March 15th due to Coronavirus concerns. The park is currently scheduled to reopen to guests on March 16th.

Tokyo Disneyland Resort joins Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland in closing the theme parks due to concerns over the Coronavirus.

Shanghai Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland will combine for an estimated $175M loss. The Q2 losses break down as follows:

  • Shanghai Disneyland (est 2 month closure): $135M loss
  • Hong Kong Disneyland (est 2 month closure): $40M loss

These numbers are in addition to the already substantial losses estimated due to the political turmoil in Hong Kong.

Disney has not announced a planned reopening date for Shanghai Disneyland or Hong Kong Disneyland as officials continue to monitor the Coronavirus outbreak.
