Disney Will Limit How Many Days Annual Passholders Can Reserve When Theme Parks Reopen; Soft Openings Confirmed

Disney has posted some new details about what the Annual Passholder experience will be like when the theme parks reopen:

Welcoming You Back to Walt Disney World Resort

Our Annual Passholders are some of our most loyal and valued Guests. We truly can’t wait to welcome you back—and we will do it with great thought.

With that in mind, when the parks reopen, park capacity will be significantly limited—and may continue to be for a period of time, based on guidance from health experts to promote physical distancing.

We understand how much excitement, thought and time goes into planning your Disney visits and realize some new changes may be disappointing. For example, during this unprecedented time, an annual pass will not guarantee park entry and Annual Passholders will be required to make an advance reservation to enter a park.

    Please note that:

    • During the limited capacity period, it may be difficult for Annual Passholders to get park reservations to visit on certain dates. To help manage capacity, total reservation days held at one time will be limited. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
    • Some pass benefits and features will not be available during periods of limited capacity. Also, park experiences and offerings will be modified and subject to limited availability or even closure.
    • Annual passes are subject to blockout dates. Guests should ensure their pass type is valid for park entry prior to making a park reservation.

As we prepare for the reopening of the parks, we’re planning a special preview opportunity for Annual Passholders. We look forward to sharing details with you soon.

Please know we will be here to help you as we remain focused on delivering a wonderful experience for everyone who visits.

If you have any questions, please contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. Options to manage your annual pass continue to be available during the closure period.

    Policy Updates and Refunds

Due to the closure of the Walt Disney World theme parks, some policies were modified to assist Passholders.

If you are an Annual Passholder who has paid in full:
All active Walt Disney World Resort theme park and water park Annual Passes will be extended for the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the parks.

As an alternative, and in lieu of an extension of their passes, Passholders who have paid in full may choose to receive a partial refund for the park closure period. To request this alternative option, we ask that you contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we answer all inquiries.

If you are an Annual Passholder on the monthly payment plan:
On April 5, 2020, we automatically stopped and will waive monthly payments due while the theme parks are closed. We will also retroactively refund payments made between March 14 through April 4, 2020. Payments will resume on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment dates once the parks reopen. Please note, pass expiration dates will not be extended and passes will expire upon their originally scheduled expiration dates.

As an alternative, Guests who are paying for Walt Disney World Annual Passes using our monthly payment program may choose to have their monthly payments postponed starting with payments due April 5, 2020 through the park closure period, and then resumed on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment date once the parks reopen. Postponed payments will be collected in the months following the end of the Passholder’s currently scheduled payment term. The pass will be extended the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the theme parks. To request this alternative option, we ask that you contact V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277. We do anticipate heavy call volume and appreciate your patience as we answer all inquiries.

    1. How is that an annual pass then… What a rip off… I don’t go out there everyday but I don’t always know way ahead of time when I will be going. I understand it is a crazy time, but annuals probably don’t make up a huge part of the crowd. Reality is in the month and a half till they open this virus will get bigger and Disney won’t open anyway. But hey Disney why not just give annuals an extension of a year ….

    2. Yeah I agree.. this isn’t an AP then.. Annual passes are so you can make payments and go in when ever you want not limit or reserve data. I have a flex pass for Disneyland which I already have to reserve days for however that’s not fair to the others that already have higher passes then me.. but now that they’re going to have to reserve data to and will most likely get first dibs then is, they’re will be no reservations left for us flex pass holders. I’m definitely not renewing mine. Why would anyone pay full price for something they can’t use. DHe has taking the most extensive draconian measures that you can possibly think of to destroy any magic they had that brought millions of people to the parks and now that magic is completely gone without any parades and fireworks character meet and greets character dining free dining Disney plan or fast passes There is literally no magic left the only thing there is to do that right now is to walk a straight narrow line like a robot and get on a ride and that’s about it I mean there’s just nothing fun about it it’s just not even a place I would consider a happy place to go it just sounds like a place of stress and work and that’s about it so unless they change that is ridiculous measures that they are following and basing it on nothing scientific at all I won’t be going and I won’t be renewing my pass! Disney better find a way to reduce these ticket costs and reduce the cost of an annual pass I was going to buy them anymore they’re just not worth it in the end especially if you can’t get a reservation without fail that money you might as well just buy a three day hopper ticket and save a lot more money in the long run I will just wouldn’t be worth it. Sadly I think Disney thinks their guests are really stupid!

    3. Horrible. Why aren’t they implementing what they did in Shanghai Disney which is to extend the expiration date on passes as long as the reservation period is in effect? Absolute rip off. We should be given a choice as to when we would like to start using our passes again given these circumstances.

    4. You act as if Disney is doing this explicitly to inconvenience you. You are an adult–stop about the “magic” and wake up: whether or not you care, the entire world has had to change.

If you refuse to believe that the measures are to protect you, or you think they’re extreme, consider them measures to keep Disney open in the long-term. If they open with looser rules, they will almost certainly be sued for more than they can bring in at such low attendance numbers.

There are enough passholders to fill almost every spot in the parks. News flash: without new ticket sales, Disney parks would eventually become insolvent. Unless you drop hundreds per person per day on services or double that on food or merchandise, letting you in at all costs Disney money; they desperately need money in the short-term just like any other business. The fact that any system has been developed to allow passholders in is a sign that Disney does care about your continued business.

The guests who aren’t “stupid,” as you say, understand that this is a necessary and temporary situation that it ultimately means we can enjoy “normal” Disney next year or even later this year. If you can’t understand these concepts, I don’t know what to tell you.

    5. Don’t think APs will stick around if the prices are the same for a lesser product and now with restrictions.

    6. Ok great points.. but we should be given a choice.. why would I pay full pop every month for a pass if I can’t get it.. I would be even happy with at lest 2 day’s but 3 would be ideal
Otherwise the cost if the pass isn’t worth it. I rather just go during the holidays and buy regular tickets or AP just won’t be worth it unless they seriously discount these passes! very bad business!

    7. Also the park is phasing its reopening so does that mean passes are extended til MK reopens or until all parks are reopened? I don’t even go to MK and live in the UK so can’t see me being able to travel there in July anyway but the extension period is important to know so I can replan.

    8. I have uk family coming out april2021. They can buy tickets tomorrow and reserve the parks. Because my annual pass expires before april2021 I cannot reserve the park with them and because I cant renew for months there is no way to sort this.
