Cast Members Allowed to Wear a Face Shield in Addition to a Face Mask When Social Distancing Isn’t Possible

As Disney World prepares to reopen (and they are preparing to reopen), we’re getting more information about what the parks and experiences will look like when they reopen next month.

Today, a Cast Member union announced that Cast Members working at attractions positions where social distancing will be impossible will be provided a face shield as an additional barrier between the guest and the Cast Member. The example given in the announcement was the greeter position where Cast Members might be asked to interact with guests constantly.

As a reminder, all guests and Cast Members will be required to wear a face mask when the Walt Disney World theme parks reopen beginning July 11th.

  1. Do everyone a favor and donโ€™t leave your house. If wearing a mask and a face shied makes you uncomfortable then thatโ€™s on you, itโ€™s for everyone elseโ€™s safety so leave your selfishness at the door. You arenโ€™t better or smarter than health officials, at all.
