Select Restaurants May Remain Open After Park Close Beginning September 8th

UPDATE: Cast Members have confirmed to us that select restaurants will be open after the theme parks close. More here. Our original story continues below.

According to the My Disney Experience website and app, select table service restaurants are accepting dining reservations for time periods after the official park close.

As you may know, theme park hours are being shortened beginning September 8th at Walt Disney World. Beginning September 8th, here are the park hours:

    • Magic Kingdom – 9am to 6pm (previously closed at 7pm)
    • EPCOT – 11am to 7pm (previously closed at 9pm)
    • Disney’s Hollywood Studios – 10am to 7pm (previously closed at 8pm)
    • Disney’s Animal Kingdom – 9am to 5pm (previously opened at 8am and closed at 6pm)

As of publish time, guests are still able to make reservations for select table service restaurants for dining times after the official park close. Here are the restaurants that are currently scheduled to stay open after park close at each of the Disney World theme parks.

    Magic Kingdom

    • Be Our Guest
    • Liberty Tree Tavern

    Disney’s Hollywood Studios

    • 50s Prime Time Cafe
    • Oga’s Cantina
    • Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

It’s worth noting that each of these locations have a dining arrival time available for after official park close. While it’s not uncommon for guests to dine after a theme park has closed, it is uncommon for seating periods to begin after park close. We have seen seating times available for as late as 55 minutes after park close.

Disney has not announced that there will be a change in policy beyond what is currently publicly visible on the Disney World website and My Disney Experience app.

    1. I’m concerned that if i made a reservation in an “after hours” time slot it would be cancelled when Disney decides this is not a good idea. They seem to be changing things faster than I can keep up for our trip the end of September. Soon there will not be anything left for us to do but enjoy the resort pool. Of course, we are paying full price park tickets for a “mini” experience. It’s no wonder attendance is down.

    2. Glenna, attendance is down because the US has been experiencing a PANDEMIC for most of 2020 and, sadly, there is no end in sight anytime soon. Why anyone would voluntarily choose to travel during a world-wide health crisis is beyond me. *shrugging my shoulders*
