Work Underway on Space Mountain Exterior at Magic Kingdom

While driving past Space Mountain today, we noticed that crews have begun work on the Space Mountain exterior at Magic Kingdom.

While Disney hasn’t commented on the nature of the work, we hope that the iconic structure is receiving a much-needed pressure cleaning. As you might know, the new TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster is going to be neighboring Space Mountain in Tomorrowland, and a new attraction will definitely illustrate the aging structure next door if Disney doesn’t clean up the exterior a bit. Even in our latest TRON construction photos, Space Mountain wasn’t exactly putting its best foot forward.

Here’s a look at the crews we spotted today. It wasn’t immediately obvious if they were there to clean or to paint, but the rig you see in the photos was previously used to clean and paint Space Mountain back in Summer 2017.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news, photos, and info from around the Disney Parks!
