As evidenced in a video from HKDL of Fantasy, Hong Kong Disneyland is performing pyrotechnics testing despite the indefinite closure of the theme park.
As you might know, Hong Kong Disneyland reopened on June 18th, only to reclose less than a month later due to government regulations.
That said, there are a few substantial projects that are still in limbo during the closures such as the finishing touches on the Castle of Magical Dreams and ongoing Frozen-land construction. As it turns out, the parks aren’t necessarily empty during the closure, far from it. The video below was shot a few days ago, but captures fireworks testing for a new show that will debut with the completion of the Castle of Magical Dreams.
Both Shanghai Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland have restarted their nighttime entertainment, but have vastly different COVID-19 environments than Walt Disney World.
Hong Kong Disneyland remains closed despite having some remarkably low COVID-19 case numbers – just 12 confirmed cases yesterday. Here is the latest information from the resort:
As required by the government and health authorities in line with prevention efforts taking place across Hong Kong, Hong Kong Disneyland Park is temporarily closed until further notice. The resort hotels remain open with adjusted level of services. Enhanced health and safety measures that reflect the guidance of health and government authorities have been put in place, such as social distancing measures and increased cleaning and sanitization.
