Instead of long lines for attractions, we’re seeing long lines for Guest Relations this morning at Disney’s Hollywood Studios due to a My Disney Experience app issue.
The issue, which is widespread and experienced by many guests, doesn’t show them as being “inside the park”, a requirement to join the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue. By not showing as “in the park”, guests were unable to secure a Boarding Group for Rise of the Resistance.
Separately from the My Disney Experience issue, Rise of the Resistance is experiencing downtime this morning that lead to the attraction not opening with the rest of the park. Cast Members at Rise of the Resistance were encouraging guests to visit other attractions.
Guests who are in line for Guest Relations will are being given a “Multiple Experiences” recovery, which essentially allows them to bypass the line at any attraction except for Rise of the Resistance.
This is just another example of the struggles that Rise of the Resistance has encountered in the 10 months since it opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The attraction is a phenomenal experience when operating as intended, and we hope Disney is able to make it more reliable.
