It’s National Popcorn Day, so what better time to announce a new popcorn kiosk coming to EPCOT than today? A permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering indicates that a new popcorn kiosk will be installed at EPCOT in the World Celebration neighborhood. The permit was filed earlier this month, and gives an address that is next to the EPCOT playground area near the MouseGear construction site. Here’s a look at where the popcorn stand is planned to be installed.
Here’s the same area in an aerial photo from friend of the site bioreconstruct. The kiosk will likely be installed along the pathway that runs south of the MouseGear construction site.
It’s unclear if this popcorn stand is planned to be a permanent installation or if it will be temporary for a festival. Additionally, the kiosk doesn’t appear to show up in any of the concept art released by Disney for the EPCOT overhaul.
