While walking around World Showcase today, we wanted to check in on the construction of a new food kiosk in the Italy Pavilion. “La Gelateria” promises to bring some tasty Italian desserts to World Showcase when it eventually opens – a timeline that still remains a mystery.

In a recent visit, we noticed that a lot of the finishing details appeared to be complete, but a peek over the construction walls show that there is still a decent amount of work left before this new dessert location can open.

Now, here’s a sneak peek at the work taking place behind the construction wall – including what appears to be a new fountain on the left side of the photo.

We imagine that the third-party operator, Patina Restaurant Group, will want to have this kiosk open by the start of the 2021 Taste of EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival in less than a week, but it remains to be seen if they can make that timeline or if they’ll open the location at some point during the festival instead.
