Earlier today, we noticed that Disney was setting up to film something at the TRON Lightcycle Run roller coaster construction site.
While we didn’t know it at the time, it appears that they were setting up to film the ceremonial topping off of the construction. This occurs when construction reaches its highest point from the ground – in this case, at the peak of the canopy construction. Here’s a look at the filming setup.
This evening, an American Flag could be seen waving at the very top of the canopy – a symbolic milestone and sign that the project has been topped off.
When we returned to Magic Kingdom, we noticed Disney added a small “tree” to the construction site as well, carrying on a tradition we saw them use at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Hopefully we’ll get some official photos from Disney in the coming days.
We saw a similar topping off ceremony back in 2017 when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reached it’s tallest point.

I can’t wait to ride Tron:Lightcycle run at the Magic Kingdom!
