Guests looking to take a roughly 17 mile train ride between Walt Disney World and the Orlando International Airport (MCO) shouldn’t hold their breath. According to Brightline, construction on the MCO to Disney Springs route wouldn’t even begin until the first quarter of 2024. Construction wouldn’t be completed until late 2025 for a 2026 opening timeframe after the line passes safety checks.
Brightline is currently in the design phase of the route, which should last until late 2022 according to a planning roadmap. The same roadmap indicates that construction from Disney to Tampa wouldn’t start until mid-2025 and does not give an end date.

Many Disney fans had hoped that a Brightline train service between Walt Disney World and the Orlando International Airport would be a viable alternative to the soon-to-be-shuttered Magical Express bus service, but it looks like we are still many years away from a car-free connection between MCO and Disney World.
