Walt Disney World and the Actors’ Equity Association have reached an agreement on making the COVID-19 vaccine mandatory for Walt Disney World actors and Cast Members covered by the union.

A statement from Russell Lehrer, Actors’ Equity Association Assistant Eastern Regional Director, was provided to BlogMickey.com:

Actors’ Equity Association members will have until October 22, 2021 to provide proof of vaccination status. Any exemptions will be handled by Disney Human Resources.

The announcement of this agreement could be a massive step forward for the return of many suspended Walt Disney World entertainment offerings. As of October 22, 2021, all Disney World actors will be vaccinated and modifications of shows and suspension of offerings will no longer be able to be attributed to COVID-19 protocols.

The official Walt Disney World website lists the following entertainment as temporarily unavailable in order to accommodate physical distancing:

In theory, the agreement reached will allow all of these offerings to return starting October 22, 2021. In reality, it will likely take much longer for Disney leadership to bring back these offerings, if they even return at all.
