Guest Spending at Disney Parks Jumps 30% Over Pre-Pandemic Levels

    In an investor call this afternoon, Disney CFO Christine McCarthy said that guest spending is very strong at their theme parks. McCarthy said that per capita guest spending is up 30% over pre-pandemic figures from 2019.

    Of course, the cost of a Disney Parks vacation is getting more expensive. From a 2.7% increase in overall variable-priced tickets in 2021 to more expensive special events like Disney After Hours Boo Bash.

    Future guest spending only looks to increase. In the same investor call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that nearly 1/3 of guests are purchasing the Disney Genie+ service.

    McCarthy said that Disney expects guest spending in fiscal 2022 to “significantly exceed pre-pandemic levels” at Disney Parks.
