RUMOR: Paint the Night Parade Coming to Walt Disney World, Two Parks Under Consideration

With the Destination D23 event just days away, Disney fans are starting to get excited about possible theme park announcements that could be made. According to BlogMickey.com sources, fans can expect an announcement that the Paint the Night parade is coming to Walt Disney World. The Paint the Night news will reportedly be announced in conjunction with a more precise timeline for the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade to Disneyland Park.

While rumors have swirled about Paint the Night coming to Walt Disney World for years, Disney is reportedly ready to flip the switch and bring a nighttime parade back to The Vacation Kingdom of the World. What might be interesting is that Disney is considering two theme parks for the parade. The obvious choice that fans have been talking about is Magic Kingdom, but we’re told that Paint the Night could end up at a different Walt Disney World theme park.

With no nighttime fireworks show and a nighttime spectacular currently undergoing significant changes, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has apparently been identified as a park that could use some help keeping guests until the end of the night.

When it last ran at the Disneyland Resort, the parade had the following units:

  • Tinker Bell and Friends
  • Monsters, Inc.
  • Cars
  • The Little Mermaid
  • Toy Story
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Frozen (Removed for DCA run)
  • The Incredibles (DCA only)
  • Sorcerer Mickey finale

The Paint the Night parade debuted at Disneyland in May 2015 as part of the park’s Diamond Celebration (60th Anniversary). The parade would be called upon again to carry an anniversary, this time Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, which has not had a parade element thus far.

After a run at Disneyland, Paint the Night went over to Disney California Adventure to support the Pixar Fest event. Now, rumors indicate that the Paint the Night parade is being shipped to Walt Disney World.

As with any rumor, you should treat the information in this post as unofficial unless and until Disney confirms it.
