A new aerial photo from The Disney Pilot reveals extensive work taking place at the Fantasmic theater in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Extensive work appears to be taking place on the plumbing work, perhaps signaling an upgrade to the water screen feature. Also, the Steamboat Willie finale boat is being rebuilt after sitting out for months on end.
Disney has remained silent on the work and status of Fantasmic’s return. Back in June, BlogMickey.com sources indicated that the nighttime show would remain closed for the remainder of the year, reopening sometime in 2022.
The extensive work seen above, coupled with the need to retrain a massive cast of performers all but eliminate the possibility of a return in the next 60 days.
