“it’s a small world” Expected to Reopen Next Week Following Flood; Theme Parks Worldwide Assisted Repairs

According to Disneyland officials, “it’s a small world” is going to reopen next week following a flood that kept it closed for the start of the holiday season (via OC Register).

More than 20 Disneyland departments were called in to repair the attraction after a basement maintenance room was flooded.

All of the electrical equipment was submerged in water. After crews pumped out the water and figured out what needed to be replaced, Disneyland crews started to reach out to other Disney Parks around the world to see if they had spare parts from their “it’s a small world” attraction that they could overnight to Disneyland. Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland all supported in the repairs.

What would normally have been a months-long repair was completed in about three weeks.
