A small fire briefly shut down it’s a small world at Magic Kingdom yesterday, and Disney confirmed that a guest’s personal phone charger caused it. Cast Members quickly deployed a fire extinguisher to put out the small fire. The fire itself had nothing to do with the ride mechanics. No one was hurt, and the attraction reopened later the same day. The fire extinguisher residue ended up being what was caught on video.

Small Fire at it’s a small world Caused by Guest

Smoke from fire at Disney's 'it's a small world' ride with guests nearby.

The fire started from a guest’s personal phone charger, not from anything in the ride system itself. Cast Members responded quickly and deployed a fire extinguisher to suppress the fire. No injuries were reported, either to guests or to Cast Members. The attraction closed only briefly while crews handled the situation.

A short video posted to TikTok showed the result of the fire extinguisher deployment, capturing the residue a Cast Member’s extinguisher left behind inside the ride. it’s a small world reopened later in the day and continues to operate normally today.
