Construction Continues in Effort to Bring Back Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom

Good morning from Magic Kingdom where we decided to check in on the ongoing efforts to bring back the Walt Disney World Railroad. While the vast majority of the Grand Circle Tour is ready for action, there is a segment between the Fantasyland Station and Space Mountain that remains unconnected. Construction of the TRON Lightcycle Run attraction necessitated the removal of track on the construction site, and crews are working hard to create a tunnel that will allow the train to pass below the canopy and walkway for TRON.

First, here’s the concept art that shows the tunnel currently under construction. In the photo below, you can see a tunnel on the far side of the walkway that will be used by the Walt Disney World Railroad.

Here’s a look at the construction site today, and the construction of the tunnel.
