At the 2022 D23 Expo, attendees were treated to some new looks at various Disney Parks projects in the works and coming soon. One of those projects is the Splash Mountain replacement – Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Disney plans on opening the attraction in late 2024 at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World and at Disneyland Park. The reimagined attraction will be a significant retheme of the existing Splash Mountain attraction, which no longer aligns with the values of The Walt Disney Company.
Within the Wonderful World of Dreams Disney Parks pavilion, attendees were the first to see the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure model, which contained significant changes from the preliminary concept art. We cover the changes, which include changes to the attraction storyline, in our article below.
Also on display within the Wonderful World of Dreams Disney Parks pavilion was a short video showcasing the work that Imagineers have done to create an authentic experience. The video not only contained footage of Imagineers visiting New Orleans, but also an animated rendering of daytime and nighttime concept art for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
