According to D23, an “updated version” of the Happily Ever After fireworks show will return in 2023. When its return was originally announced by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, the excited crowd reaction seemingly tied up D’Amaro’s delivery of the news and caused confusion amongst fans. At the D23 Expo Parks Panel, the crowd erupted at even the mention of bringing back Happily Ever After, and the reaction threw D’Amaro off of the teleprompter, where he would’ve likely announced an “updated nighttime spectacular”. Here’s our best attempt at transcribing what he said.
I am so excited to share that next year, we’re going to bring back the Happily Ever After anthem as part of an-…it’s an uh, part of an updated Magic Kingdom…it’s a nighttime spectacu-…I know you guys love this stuff. I know it, I love it too.
