Earlier today, we shared the month-by-month plans for the Disney100 celebration at Walt Disney World. Starting in April, each month through August will contain a “story world” theme that celebrates a franchise under The Walt Disney Company umbrella of Intellectual Properties. From Star Wars to Frozen, Pixar to Princesses, there will be plenty to celebrate at Walt Disney World this spring and summer. Then, starting in September, the celebrations will shift to EPCOT which has already been announced to be the home of the Disney100 celebration, although it’s not quite clear what that means.
The Disney100 finale will run from September through December at EPCOT and celebrate the culmination of the lengthy EPCOT transformation project.
Disney says that a sense of transformation and celebration will be felt when you enter EPCOT. A platinum Mickey Mouse sculpture will welcome guests to EPCOT, and Mickey & Minnie will be dressed in their celebratory platinum outfits. The limited-time outfits will be worn for character experiences from September through December, according to Disney. The new World Celebration Garden and Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana attraction will be completed this fall and will likely be utilized for the celebration. The Walt the Dreamer statue will also be available this year in World Celebration.
A brand-new nighttime spectacular will light the sky over World Showcase Lagoon and will debut as during the Disney100 celebrations at Walt Disney World.
