A new permit filed with the state reveals that Disney will be creating a new entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as part of the ongoing World Drive North project. In short, the permit appears to show a relocation of the entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort from Seven Seas Drive where it is currently located to an entrance from World Drive Phase 3/Floridian Way.
We’ll cover the actual meat of the permit in a subsequent story, but let’s focus on the northern boundary of the permit and what it appears to show. First, here’s a look at the relevant part of the permit.
And here’s an overlay of the permit and a Google Maps look at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Essentially, the new entrance would have to shift somewhere along the roadway on the left side of the image below.
Zooming in, we can see that the current entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will turn into a bus-only entrance to the resort as noted by the planned painting seen just above the “Seven Seas Drive” label.
If we continue to follow the road, we can see that it leads to the current bus station for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. However, because this is a bus-only road, we can see that a new loop will be created. There will also be some adjustments to the parking lot. It looks like a new entrance can be seen to the left, but the permit doesn’t show the exact design of a new entrance.
The new entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will likely debut in or around late 2024 with the debut of the Disney Vacation Club Tower on the northwest side of the property. Earlier permits revealed that the Disney Vacation Club Tower would have its own dedicated entrance.
