Guests may soon be able to dance with “young Groot” at Disney California Adventure following a secretive playtest where select guests and Cast Members were able to dance with the Imagineering creation recently.

Known internally as Project Kiwi, young Groot represents a step forward in immersive entertainment for Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Parks entertainment. Young Groot is fully contained as a relatively free-roaming animatronic that combines lifelike movements and interactions in a scale-appropriate package. Disney has not announced when they will debut young Groot to regular guests.
