With a Fall opening timeframe quickly approaching, a new permit filed reveals that Disney is working quickly to transform the former Merida meet & greet space into an Encanto-themed venue. The Fairytale Gardens are located on the edge of Fantasyland, across from Tomorrowland’s Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe, but in the shadow of Cinderella Castle.

Last month, Merida was evicted from the Fairytale Gardens location to meet with guests in Liberty Square as Disney began construction on a new Encanto-themed space. Now, a permit filed by Disney for work from contractor Bungalow Scenic Studios lists “installation of scenic items” for an address matching the Fairytale Gardens. If Bungalow Scenic Studios sounds familiar, it’s because they are the same contractors who are doing some work over in the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT.

Interstingly, Bungalow Scenic Studios has already proven themselves in the Encanto-themed space having worked on the Disney x CAMP immersive Encanto shopping experience in New York. Here’s how CAMP describes the experience:

Here’s how Disney has described the upcoming Mirabel meet and greet in Fairytale Gardens:

At Magic Kingdom Park this fall, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film “Encanto” will greet guests in Fairytale Garden surrounded by whimsical décor inspired by La Familia Madrigal.

A permit was previously filed back in June for work by Adena Corporation at Fairytale Gardens.
