As part of a planning meeting tonight, the City of Anaheim has released new concept art for a potential new parking structure that would be east of Disneyland as part of the DisneylandForward project.
Here’s how the area is described under a “proposed changes” section of literature handed out at the meeting:
An area east of Harbor Boulevard along Manchester Avenue would see a parking zoning overlay for the development of parking and for consistency with adjacent parking zoning
Other proposed changes that would be part of the DisneylandForward project include:
- Mix of theme park attractions, hotels and shops and restaurants and expansion from 292 acres to 389 acres, expanding from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to the west side of Disneyland Drive from Magic Way to Katella Avenue, replacing an existing hotel district
- Paradise Pier Hotel and part of the existing Toy Story Parking Area would see a theme park zoning overlay to allow for consistent theme park zoning throughout the areas
In terms of a timeline, another Planning Commission workshop would be held in early 2024 and there would be a City Council workshop and hearing on the DisneylandFoward project in the first half of 2024.
It’s important to note that DisneylandForward is a rezoning effort. While concept art and some details have been released as part of DisneylandForward so far, there have been no definitive plans with regard to exact details of what would be part of the theme park expansions.
