The price of the Disney Genie+ service has never been higher. Disney Genie+ is the paid skip-the-line service, which replaced the free FastPass+ offering back in 2021. As the holiday crowds start to build to the biggest of the year, we’ve watched the price of the Genie+ service climb as well.
Here’s a look at today’s all-time record high prices and the previous high water mark set during Thanksgiving Week:
- Park Hopper | $39 (previous high $35)
- Magic Kingdom | $39 (previous high $35)
- EPCOT | $32 (previous high $28)
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios | $35 (previous high $32)
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom | $29 (previous high $25)
With higher crowds comes a higher Disney Genie+ price. The reasoning for that is twofold. First, a higher price is justified because you’re probably skipping longer lines. A Lightning Lane for Haunted Mansion when the posted wait is 100 minutes is more valuable than a Lightning Lane for a 35-minute wait. The second side of that coin is that Disney has to set Genie+ at a higher price to discourage some guests from utilizing the service. The more people using Genie+, the less valuable it becomes. While Genie+ will sell out occasionally to preserve some sort of value, you’re likely to only get 2-3 Lightning Lane selections per day during the holiday period whereas you might get 5-10 selections during a less busy time of year (and at a lower price).
