Following the Easter surge in crowds, wait times, and Disney Genie+ prices, all three are on the way back down this weekend, and likely to continue into next week.
In this chart from thrill-data, we can see the surges in posted wait times from Presidents Day Weekend through today. A mid-March surge corresponded with the start of Spring Break, especially in local counties. That same time period was the last week of theme park access for lower-tier Passholders, and some ticket deals. You can see a lull between that mid-March surge and the weeks before and after Easter.
The past two days have seen a moderation in average wait times, as well as a drop in Disney Genie+ pricing. Here’s a look at how Disney’s skip-the-line service pricing has evolved in the past few days:
- April 5th
- Multiple Parks | $39
- Magic Kingdom | $39
- Hollywood Studios | $35
- EPCOT | $32
- Animal Kingdom | $29
- April 6th
- Multiple Parks | $35
- Magic Kingdom | $35
- Hollywood Studios | $32
- EPCOT | $28
- Animal Kingdom | $25
- April 7th
- Multiple Parks | $29
- Magic Kingdom | $29
- Hollywood Studios | $26
- EPCOT | $21
- Animal Kingdom | $18
Looking to the weeks ahead, we should see wait times continue to moderate until climbing again toward the end of May for Memorial Day and the unofficial start of summer at Walt Disney World.
