It’s the start of the Spring Break season at Walt Disney World, and wait times are up significantly across the four theme parks. Looking at posted wait time data from thrill-data, we can see that wait times are up more than 50% today than the past week’s average.
Here’s a look at the highest posted midday wait times as seen in the My Disney Experience app.
The why behind the increase in wait times is likely due to a combination of factors, but the most immediate is that two Central Florida counties began Spring Break today. Both Osceola and Lake counties are now on Spring Break, with other Central Florida counties scheduled for a Spring Break closer to the end of the month of March.
Another factor at play could be that this is the final week of access for two of the lower-tier Annual Passes before Spring blockouts begin. The Pirate Pass is blocked out from March 18th through April 6th, and the lowest-tier Pixie Dust Pass is blocked out from March 16th through April 7th.
So, how do the early-week wait times compare to the rest of this year? Here’s a look at weekly average wait times going back to the very popular final week of 2023. With only a single day of data so far, this is the busiest week of the year. While wait times will moderate throughout the remainder of the week, we expect that wait times will generally remain elevated through Easter and into April, with some possible dips early next week as select Passholders face blockouts.
