Disney World has announced that a baby Okapi has been named after a longtime Disney World Cast Member. Here’s the announcement:

Cast member Elijah first joined the Magic Kingdom in June 1973 and transferred to the horticulture department at Disney’s Animal Kingdom when it opened in 1998. He plays a critical role in maintaining the animal habitats at Disney’s Animal Kingdom – from rhinos to okapi and everything in between. Because he is such a beloved cast member, we named this newest baby okapi after him!

Be sure to stop by and visit okapi Elijah on Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail!
