Tokyo Disneyland has announced the permanent closure of Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland – to be replaced by an all-new Wreck-It Ralph attraction themed to the world of Sugar Rush. Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters will close in October 2024, and the new Wreck-It Ralph attraction will open in 2026.

New Wreck-It Ralph Attraction

Wreck-It Ralph, which serves as the theme for the attraction, is an arcade-game-hopping adventure from Disney Animation. Ralph, who has played the bad guy in his popular video game, embarks on an action-packed journey as he sets out to prove to everyone that he is a true hero with a big heart. As he explores exciting new worlds, he teams up with some unlikely new friends including feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz.

In this attraction, guests partner up with familiar characters from the movie in order to save the world of Sugar Rush, a racing game in the land of sweets, which is about to be destroyed by a glitch called the Sugar Bug created by King Candy. Together with Ralph, Vanellope, and the others, guests will shoot the Sugar Bugs and return them to their original “kawaii” form of cute sweets such as cookies and cakes. 

The Planet M gift shop will also close and be rethemed.
