While visiting Disney Springs today, we noticed that work was underway on what will likely be a drone launch site. As previously announced, Disney Springs will have a drone show this summer called Disney Dreams That Soar.
Earlier this month, we noticed that a permit was filed for new fencing and figured that it would be for the new drone show due to its location. While visiting Disney Springs this morning, we saw that work was underway at the location.
The construction zone is in a section of the Strawberry Lot adjacent to Lake Buena Vista on the west end of Disney Springs. Here’s a look around!
The drones will likely launch from this area, and a small walkway will need to be closed during the show and drone operation. That said, it’s a perfect launch site due to its proximity to the lake, and minimal impact on operations for Disney World’s shopping and dining district.
The Disney Dreams That Soar drone show will debut May 24th.
