CONFIRMED: Character Flotillas Retired at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Earlier this month, we posted a rumor that the character flotillas would soon be coming to an end at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Starting today, characters have moved on land, and there are no more character flotillas at the park.

Instead, guests can now meet Pocahontas in the Oasis, and either Goofy or Pluto over near Chester & Hester’s Dino Treasures gift shop.

The Discovery Island Drummers are the final flotilla left at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and there are no current plans to bring them on land. The drummers were previously part of an entertainment act in Pandora – The World of Avatar called Swotu Waya. Swotu Waya was one of the many COVID-era cuts to entertainment that simply haven’t returned to Walt Disney World.
