Guests visiting Magic Kingdom may notice some updates to Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress as theater updates are underway. With six theaters, crews are able to update one theater at a time while keeping the attraction operational. So far, only theater one has been updated, but we expect that the refresh will continue over the upcoming months so that all theaters have the updates.
Carousel of Progress Theater Updates
So, what’s happening at Carousel of Progress? While the show remains the same, moving theaters are getting updates including new upholstery (and designs) on the seating, as well as new carpet. It’s unclear if any show changes are in the works, but the finale scene aesthetics were updated back in 2022.

The theater updates to the Carousel of Progress are likely more a function of theater seating updates across the Walt Disney World theme parks and not a renewed interest in updating the Carousel of Progress attraction specifically.
