Walt Disney World has posted a casting notice for performers to portray Isabela from Encanto. The casting notice doesn’t offer much in the way of details, only noting that the casting is for a “future opportunity”. Perhaps something unexpected? Here’s the casting notice:
Walt Disney World Isabela Casting Notice
Disney Live Entertainment is seeking performers to portray Isabela from Disney’s Encanto for future opportunities. Performers will have the opportunity to bring this role to life, in addition to performing as the world-famous Disney Characters, at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL.
Isabela Character Look-alikes: 5’5” – 5’9”, with warm, engaging, and outgoing personalities.
At the recent 2024 D23 Expo, Disney announced that a new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, would debut at Magic Kingdom next summer, and one of the pieces of concept art featured Isabela, Mirabel, and Bruno. Currently, Mirabel and Bruno are characters that guests can see at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, but Isabela has only appeared in a runDisney race at Walt Disney World so far.
Could this casting notice be the first hint that casting has begun for Disney Starlight? It’s possible, but just as likely is that Disney will want to get Isabela in front of guests before Starlight to establish the character beyond a single distanced meet and greet during a runDisney event.
Currently, guests visiting Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can meet with Mirabel and Bruno. If Disney wants to get Isabela some work before Starlight, could she show up at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? We’ll keep an eye out.
