During a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we made our way over to Adventureland to check in on the construction of a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar. The unnamed Pirates tavern will open in 2025 and it will “offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small, and everyone in between”. Disney says that the location welcomes bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life.
At the recent 2024 D23 Expo, Disney released the following concept art for the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar.
Pirates of the Caribbean Bar Under Construction
Here’s a peek at some of the construction, which includes gutting the former Pirates League location to make way for the new tavern! In the first photo below, we can see that Disney has taken the space down to the studs, leaving very little theming in place. The far wall is the exterior wall out to the courtyard seen from the Pirates of the Caribbean queue, and the near wall used to be a wall full of merchandise. The room seen beyond the near doorway is the former Pirates League space.
In this second photo, we can see the flooring of the former merchandise area has been torn up, with the former Pirates League space to the right, partially hidden behind the lighting. While this construction takes place, merchandise has moved across the plaza to the renamed Tortuga Treasures gift shop.
