As we continue to watch Hurricane Milton, Walt Disney World has announced that it will waive Disney-imposed cancelation fees. As of publish time, Walt Disney World continues to operate normally as Disney watches the path of Hurricane Milton closely. Here’s the latest!

Disney World Waives Change Fees & Cancellation Fees Due to Hurricane Milton

Walt Disney World has announced that guests with hotel reservations will be able to change or cancel their vacation through October 12th without Disney-imposed cancellation fees. Here’s the announcement:

Disney Resort and Room-Only Cancellation Policy for Reservations Booked Directly with Disney Destinations, LLC or The Walt Disney Travel Company

  • Due to potential weather impacts to guest travel plans, change and cancellation fees imposed by Disney will be waived for check-in dates of Sunday, 10/6 – Saturday, 10/12.
  • Most room-only and vacation packages can be modified, or canceled online, including changes to travel dates, without fees. Packages including air transportation or other services provided by third parties, or those with travel protection, cannot be modified or canceled online. For Guests with these reservations please call for assistance.

Hurricane Milton Update | Oct. 6 at 5pm

At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Hurricane Milton was located near latitude 22.4 North, longitude 93.8 West. Milton is moving toward the east near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this general motion is expected today. An eastward to east-northeastward motion is forecast on Monday, followed by a faster northeastward motion on Tuesday and Wednesday. On the forecast track, Milton is forecast to move just north of the Yucatan Peninsula and across the southern Gulf of Mexico Monday and Tuesday and approach the west coast of the Florida Peninsula by Wednesday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. Milton is forecast to rapidly intensify during the next couple of days and become a major hurricane on Monday.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 80 miles (130 km).
