Minnie Mouse Balloon Makes Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Debut, Spider-Man Returns After 10 Years

    Published:

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returns to NBC tomorrow for its 98th year as a Thanksgiving Day tradition. The parade will be presented live on Thursday, November 28, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12 Noon EST on NBC, with a simulcast on Peacock and an encore presentation at 2 PM EST. This year, Disney will have a presence with two balloons and a Disney Cruise Line float. Here’s the announcement:

History is being made as Minnie Mouse steps into her spotlight. Her 60-foot balloon is a celebration of her signature style, complete with her iconic red bow, yellow heels, and undeniable charm.

To commemorate this joyous milestone, Macy’s also announced a holiday collaboration with Disney, featuring fashion-forward apparel, accessories, and one-of-a-kind collectibles for kids and adults with new and exclusive Disney artwork by Jeff Shelly, Disney’s legendary director of character art.

Spider-Man Balloon Returns After 10-Year Hiatus

Get ready to be amazed—Spider-Man is swinging back into the Macy’s Parade for the first time in a decade! This newly designed balloon, inspired by and in honor of the iconic art style of comic book legend John Romita Sr., showcases Spider-Man’s classic look and celebrates his New York City roots.

Spider-Man first debuted in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1981, later making his debut as a larger-than-life balloon in 1987. This latest balloon is a striking homage to his legacy, sure to captivate both lifelong fans and a new generation.

    “Magic Meets the Seas” Float

Set sail with Disney Cruise Line as it brings the adventure of the high seas to the parade with its spectacular float, “Magic Meets the Seas.” Featuring the bows of Disney’s growing fleet, including the highly anticipated Disney Treasure, this float celebrates Disney Cruise Line’s ongoing expansion.

Leading the parade float are Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, joined by a cast of beloved characters from Disney Animation and Pixar favorites like Aladdin, Coco, and Moana. True to Disney Cruise Line’s tradition of Broadway-style performance featuring hits from Disney classics and a confetti-filled finale set to “Live the Adventure,” celebrating Disney Treasure’s spirit of exploration.
