Walt Disney World is wasting no time with the extensive refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom. As shared by reporter Scott Gustin on Twitter, the disassembly of the roller coaster track has begun, confirming our early rumor that the aging roller coaster would undergo a track replacement.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Track Removal Begins
As you can see in the video below, a section of track is being lifted by the massive crane that has been on site for weeks now. The work comes just two days after the attraction closed to guests. Walt Disney World says that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will not reopen until 2026.
