We’re tracking the extensive refurbishment of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom. The attraction closed January 6, 2025 and it will open in May 3, 2026. The refurbishment will add “new magic” to the attraction, according to Walt Disney World. The attraction will also receive extensive work to replace the roller coaster track as well, similar to updates made a decade ago at Disneyland Park.
