Guests visiting Magic Kingdom might notice some new construction walls installed inside the popular Emporium gift shop on Main Street USA. The construction walls are at the north end of the gift shop, encompassing quite a bit of space. I’d say roughly 20-25% of the shop is now impacted by the construction walls, which can be found in the northern half of Magic Kingdom’s flagship store. We made it out to Magic Kingdom this morning to take a look!

Here’s a look at the construction walls. At this time, it’s unclear what kind of work is taking place or if there will be anything new for guests to enjoy when the work is finished. We’ve reached out to Walt Disney World for more information and will let you know if we hear back. In the meantime, here’s a look!
We’ll start from the center of The Emporium, where a long-dormant cash register area has been brought back to life during the refurbishment. Making our way into the “Youth and Plush” area, we get our first glimpse of the construction walls that run all the way to Casey’s Corner.
There is signage encouraging guests to use the Mobile Checkout feature in the My Disney Experience app and we’d echo that sentiment.
Here’s a look at the cash register area, which is utilizing red tape for makeshift queues. This area will get quite crowded during peak shopping times.
Here’s a look at the end of the construction area, at the indoor seating area for Casey’s Corner. This route would normally be quite popular with guests looking to avoid crowds on Main Street USA, but it is now blocked.
