Following our first look at the new Test Track ride vehicles, Walt Disney Imagineering has shared a closer look at the details that guests will find on the new vehicles when the ride opens later this summer. The video from Walt Disney Imagineering shows the process of installing new wraps for the ride vehicles, along with some details of what has been updated for the next version of the EPCOT attraction.
Imagineering Shares Look at Updated Test Track Vehicles
The video from Walt Disney Imagineering, which you can watch below, confirms our speculation that the ride vehicles are not “new”, but rather updated. The new vehicle wraps are a more subtle design than the previous version of the ride. In story, the vehicles are part of the research and development fleet.
In addition to the new black wrapping for the exterior of the ride car, Imagineers shared that the ride vehicles have received new seats and new interior graphics. The vehicles also feature the General Motors logo throughout as the presenting sponsor.

Walt Disney Imagineering is collaborating with Chevrolet to push innovation forward and celebrate humanity’s enduring drive (pun intended) on the thrilling road to a brighter tomorrow. The queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room celebrate the vehicles – and people behind the vehicles – that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey.
New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route reminding us all of the joys of driving, taking in the world around us and spending quality time with friends and family.
