Earlier this month, we stopped by the American Gardens Theater to check out Command Performance for the Summer Sounds of EPCOT offering. Now, Mariachi Cobre has taken their place on stage and is entertaining guests in a shaded, seated area.
Mariachi Cobre | Summer Sounds of EPCOT
Mariachi Cobre is expected to stay on the American Gardens Theater stage through August 16th. From there, Mariachi Cobre will head back to the Mexico Pavilion to continue entertaining guests as they have since 1982.
Starting August 29th, the Eat to the Beat Concert Series will take over the theater throughout the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival.
EPCOT has played around with this style of “concert series” in the past, typically bringing in tribute bands to play during the slow summer months. This is a far cry from that, with EPCOT simply relocating existing bands instead of offering something new and fresh.
While it’s nice that EPCOT is offering a place for guests to relax and enjoy some live music, it’s a bit confusing to see it branded as something that feels bigger than it actually is. Maybe next year we’ll see the return of some third-party tribute bands.
