Walt Disney World has announced the planned refurbishment dates for the Disney Skyliner in 2027. The advance notice allows guests to plan for the closure. Walt Disney World will provide complimentary bus service during the weeklong closure. Here’s the announcement and details.
Disney Skyliner Refurbishment Dates 2027
From time to time, certain maintenance is required to keep our amenities and offerings updated. As part of these efforts, from January 24, 2027, through January 30, 2027, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
Walt Disney World had previously announced a 2026 Disney Skyliner refurbishment from January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026.
The Disney Skyliner is a magical gondola system that connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, with stops along the way at three resort hotel stations that provide access to Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century/Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The gondola system travels high above the theme parks, resorts, and other areas. Some of the gondolas are even themed to Disney characters and movies. The Skyliner is a relaxing, constantly-moving system that provides easy access for the connected theme parks and resorts.
The Disney Skyliner gondolas travel at a top speed of 12 miles per hour over the span of nearly 3 miles. The 5 guest-loading stations are connected by 50 towers. The Disney Skyliner has traveled more than 1,000,000 miles since it debuted in 2019. In total, there are more than 300 gondolas on the line, and more than 150 of the gondolas are themed to more than 20 beloved attractions and films.
