Star Wars Launch Bay Sign Removed, New Paint Scheme & More Demolition in Animation Courtyard

|

Good afternoon from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where work is progressing nicely on the transformation of Animation Courtyard into the Walt Disney Studios Lot. While visiting the park, we noticed that the Star Wars Launch Bay sign had been removed, more demolition has taken place, and new paint has arrived! Here’s the latest.

Star Wars Launch Bay Sign Removed

The most noticeable change is that the Star Wars Launch Bay signage has been removed. We can see that from both the Center Stage area in front of the Chinese Theater, and a little closer to the construction site.

New Paint Scheme Arrives!

Out with the old and in with the beige, as I always say. Some new paint has arrived on the former Disney Junior Dance Party building, and its got the vibes of the old tan/beige Disney’s Hollywood Studios going on.

We’ll start with a look at the concept art, which sees the building go from blue to beige as part of the transformation.

Here’s another before/current of the building, with the new paint visible on the far left-hand side of the structure.

More Demolition!

While the former Disney Junior Dance Party building will remain standing (important tenants inside), it will not only be repainted, but there is also some light demolition taking place on the exterior of the building. As you can see in our photos below, Disney continues to tear off the awning that used to cover the outdoor character meet and greet locations.
